Memory chip has all possible types of analog and digital circuits. Not just the design, but verification is also conducted in both the analog and digital domains based on circuit-specific requirements. Micron has many experts of analog, digital circuitry and one can learn a lot from their knowldege amassed over years of experience.
Regarding the future scope, I believe analog and digital design are going to be more and more crucial, complex and critical as we enter in More than Moore era.
Process technology advancement is slowing down since device/transistor miniaturization is becoming very challenging. On the other hand, the demand of faster, smaller and power-efficient chips is exponentially increasing to support data economy and AI/ML applications.
In order to fulfill these requirements and owing to limitations of process technology, circuit design is going to play an increasingly important role. Designing chips which function optimally by meeting all the trade offs (power, speed, die size, cost etc.) and providing cutting edge solutions to suffice the requirements of future's data hungry applications will require analog, digital designers to continuously innovate and come-up with new solutions.
Future seems interesting with great scope to contibute.
