From PhD in space physics to semiconductor manufacturing engineer
I joined Micron because I liked corporate culture and company leadership in technology and innovations at DRAM production. I believe that diversity and inclusion promoted by Micron a key factors to its future success since they create a working environment which is suitable for everybody, which is extremely important for foreigners who are planning to live and work in Japan. And technology leadership creates a lot of opportunities to grow professionally and makes you proud of the work you doing . Also the company atmosphere is very non-formal which allows to quickly create a lot of connections and find people with the same interests
High-volume manufacturing process engineer at photolithography area
My job is mainly focused on controlling manufacturing processes and introducing new technology solutions to the production lines to improve the final product yield and decrease the production cycle time. Another part of my job is so-called robotic process automation, which is simply an automation of daily routine processes to help everybody save their worktime to do more creative tasks rather than spending time on the job that can be done by simple programs
Find satisfaction in your work
I believe it is important to be proud of work you doing. Just think about it - you spent 1/3 of your live in the working place, so you probably do not want to spend it just for money. If you actually like the work you doing, this will give you a sense of purpose and motivation to move forward. If you continuously wake up in the morning with a feeling that you do not want to go to work today then maybe you have to think about some other opportunities for your life path
Work is important, but there is live outside the company!
Although passion to the work you doing is important, do not forget that there is a lot of other things around you. Spending time with you friends and family is also important for your mental health and increases the total quality of your life. For me sometimes it is quite boring to talk to people who only can talk about their work and rumors inside the company. I believe that finding a hobby, reading books or watching movies not only makes you less stressed but also makes you more interesting person to talk with. Life is full of interesting people and opportunities, do not miss them!
I ran a lot of cross-fab projects
One part of the job that I really like is that I have a lot of projects requiring me to work with many different people from all over the world to achieve the target. I find it very satisfying, when the team with the members from America, Japan and Taiwan are combining efforts to achieve one goal that will contribute to the success of the whole company. This not only allows you to make a lot of connections and friends around the world, but also make the taste of the shared victory for another finished project even sweeter.
