Recruiter

1. "Hack" to the backdoor: I'm sorry to say this but in many cases, we didn't hold the 100% reply manner to the applicants, especially when certain job has many applicants, or the applicant make the application at the late stage of a hiring. In these scenarios, to make yourself standout, sending the profiles through ways beside from apply a job posting could be good solution, the ways could be: internal referral; Linkedin messages to recruiter or hiring manager; sending email directly to recruiter or other stakeholders' direct contact (could be found on job posting page, social media page, Linkedin page, etc.) .

2. Modify Your Profiles to Highlight the Skill in Need or Change the Type of Jobs that You Apply: if you get more than one refuses, then you may need to make one step back to your experience and profile. For example, if you take mechanical major and course back in university, but apply for jobs within Micron that requires electronics exposure, then the rate for you to step into interview could be rare, especially when there are other competitors. In this case, you need to change the type of job that you've been applied for. Understand that you may be interested in electronics related job, and would like to take chance, but the chance could be really rare, and applying too many jobs in one company could level down your possibility to be considered as not well-known what you need and what you could. So step back, apply for mechanical related job, entering the company first, then keep learning and make internal transfers. However, there is another possibility, you take the mechanical major, but learn electronic lessons; or you take the electronic related major, but don't show it quite well on the resume, in these cases, modify your profile, highlight the skill and experience that is required by the job and you actually have. Always remember, everytime you make a application, you are making a sell, the selling of yourself, so, make yourself fit into the requirement, and make yourself attractive to the client.
