Hi Kerry. At Micron we have an extensive training from our new starters. Obviously the contents of the training depend on the job itself.
What do you mean exactly by CPIE? I wonder that maybe in Micron we call this in a different way

Thanks Macro for the reply. It’s central team process integration engineer. May new recruits get opportunities of business trip?

Of course, new hires are eligible to apply for business trips, job rotation, for both long term and short term. For job rotation, you go to a different office/site to learn new skills.

Hello Jia He, Micron offer our new hire with extensive training opportunity from the very start. For every new comer, they will experience onboarding training with policy, benefit, program and others; after that, they will receive specific on-job-training which is closely related to your position. Manager will help you get prepared by a 30-60-90 day plan, assign quick win tasks to help you with the transition and get familiar with job. Besides, you will also have a buddy assigned on first day, who will be helping you around. Finally, Micron also provide sufficient self-paced learning resources on our internal platform to help you on your career journey, you can choose freely to self-learn, or seek a Mentor/Coach to guide you as well!

Can I ask about this "buddy", is it assigned individually for each person for the first three months of training, or is it only for the first several days for accompanying and getting us accustomed to the place? Also is it a senior in the department or anything like that? Thankyou!

Yes, buddy is assigned to team member individually. Buddy will be assigned to each new hire on first day of onboarding. He or she will be helping you with the first 90 days of onboarding, to help you get prepared for your job and familiar with the company culture, program, activity, etc. For the selection criteria of buddy. Yes buddy is someone from your own team who has already been with Micron for some times, they are familiar with the company, and can give you guidance on multiple fields to help your transition.

Good question, Fernaldy. From my own experience, my "buddy" is someone from the same team with me as Joyce mentioned. I think it depends on your team, but for my case my buddy has helped me from the first day until now (I am in my 2nd year). After I got familiar with company culture, my buddy still helps me with many things especially tasks that my supervisor assigns to me.
Besides, "Buddy" there are other programs as well such as "Mentee-mentoring" program where you get to learn new skills to advance your career from senior engineers, principal engineers, etc.
